Steve Rhode brings 30 years as an investigative journalist chasing financial criminals, plus decades in emergency services.
For three decades, Steve investigated financial fraud, white-collar crime, and institutional corruption as an investigative journalist. He’s pursued embezzlers, Ponzi schemers, and corporate fraudsters—documenting how financial predators operate and how systems fail to stop them.
His emergency services background includes three years as a police dispatcher handling 911 calls, surveillance photography for law enforcement, and serving as Chief Pilot for public safety search and rescue operations. As an SAR pilot, he often responded lights-and-sirens to time-critical emergencies—racing against time to reach people in life-threatening situations.
Steve’s career began as a surgical assistant and eye bank technician working in morgues, giving him direct exposure to the reality of death and trauma. This unique combination—investigative journalism, emergency response, and firsthand experience with violent death—means he understands crime from multiple angles: how criminals think, how investigations work, how emergency services respond, and the human cost of violence. Every episode reflects this multi-disciplinary perspective.
