Meet Steve Rhode
My father was a pessimist – not just “glass half empty,” but convinced the glass was empty, broken, and someone had stolen it. I loved him desperately, and watching him worry about everything taught me there’s more to life than worry, hate, or fear.
Years later, I found myself drowning in negative news – wars, disasters, political fights. I realized I was becoming like him: letting problems I couldn’t solve ruin my day.
So I stopped watching the news.
But then I noticed something: Every single day, more good things happen than bad.
Regular people doing good things. Businesses growing. Communities celebrating. All over the world.
The news won’t show you this. So I created The Good News You Need.

This isn’t fake optimism or toxic positivity. It’s earned perspective from someone who’s been a search and rescue pilot and helped people through real crises. I know what actual problems look like – which is why I can offer hope without being naive.
Now I have friends who think the world is falling apart – people who only consume one stream of information. This show is for them. A gentle reminder that, well, actually… there’s always another way to look at things.
